EnterpriseLeadership.org - The Digital Enterprise Executive

You've heard me mention EnterpriseLeadership.org before in this entry. Mike Smith, the publisher of EnterpriseLeadership.org, just started an excellent blog there called The Digital Enterprise Executive. His blog deals with the impact of digital technology and the Internet on enterprise leaders and executives.

It seems that all enterprise leaders today encounter technology in their work, and Mike's blog is a great resource. I thought I'd excerpt a recent article he wrote on why some enterprises still can't get their web presence in order:

"I have found that web management is not like other management positions in a large enterprise. Because it really is a composite of your entire company put into digital form and can impact almost every business process or relationship. Nobody in their right mind ten years ago would have every thought about designing a corporate job description that said "Your job is to run our corporate website which means you have to know everything our company is doing". So there is the real issue, its really takes a well organized and very collaborative set of PEOPLE to run a good E-Business or web operation. No matter what technology you use, if the "people factor" is not right your wasting your money on web technology."

Very insightful articles, good to read for the general knowledge even if you can't think of an immediate application for the information. The Digital Enterprise Executive is worth your time, especially if you're in the position of an enterprise leader.
